Introduction

Ride sharing is a phenomenon that’s been around for a while, but it’s only recently started to gain traction in mainstream culture. For example, did you know that ride sharing has already replaced the taxi service in many major cities? And now that the 2020 presidential election is approaching, politicians are discussing the ways ride sharing can help our society. Here are some reasons why I think this transportation solution is more sustainable than owning your own car.

Ride Sharing: The Transportation Solution for the Future

Ride Sharing Is a Sustainable Alternative to Owning a Car

Ride sharing is the future of transportation. It’s convenient, affordable and sustainable. You no longer have to own a car in order to get from point A to point B–you can simply request one through an app on your phone.

Ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft are changing how people commute every day by providing them with an alternative to owning their own vehicles. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on buying or leasing cars and paying insurance premiums each month, ride share drivers simply pay for gas as they go along their way making money off passengers who need rides around town (and maybe even make some tips).

The average American household spends about $9000 per year on transportation expenses including gas for their personal vehicles according to NerdWallet data from 2016 so if someone can cut out half that cost by using Uber/Lyft instead then it makes sense why many people would want this option available!

It Can Save You Money

Ride sharing can save you money.

The average cost of owning a car is around $8,698 per year, while the average cost of using ride sharing is $2,000 per year. If you drive less than 10,000 miles per year and don’t mind taking public transportation instead of driving yourself all the time–which would be quite the commitment–then ride sharing could very well save you money!

It’s Easier to Use than You Might Think

If you’re a millennial, or have friends who are millennials, chances are good that you’ve heard of ride sharing. Ride sharing is becoming more popular than ever with people in their twenties and thirties. If you’re not familiar with it yet, here’s what it means:

Ride sharing is an online service that allows users–called “riders”–to connect with drivers who use their own vehicles as taxis or limos. It allows customers to request rides from their phones instead of calling a taxi company and waiting for someone to pick them up at home or work. Riders can also track where their driver is coming from on GPS so they know exactly when they’ll arrive at your destination (and vice versa).

Ride-sharing apps like Uber allow riders easy access anywhere in the world–even if they don’t have cash on hand! They also provide background checks on all drivers before allowing them onto the platform so there’s no risk involved in getting into an unfamiliar vehicle with someone who could potentially harm you once inside.”

Ride Sharing is Good for the Environment

Ride sharing is good for the environment.

  • It reduces the number of cars on the road.
  • It reduces pollution, which can lead to health problems and even death in some cases.
  • It decreases traffic congestion, which means less time spent sitting in traffic jams and more time spent doing other things (like reading this article).

In addition to these benefits, ride sharing also reduces the need for parking spaces.

Ride sharing will be the preferred method of transportation in the future.

Ride sharing is a great way to get around, and it’s also good for the environment. As more people choose ride sharing over car ownership, we’ll see an increase in sustainable transportation options and a decrease in carbon emissions. Ride sharing will be the preferred method of transportation in the future because it’s convenient, affordable and sustainable!

Conclusion

Ride sharing is not just a convenient way to get from point A to point B. It’s also good for the environment, your wallet and your health. And with more people than ever using ride sharing apps, it seems like we’ll all be riding together soon!
